Mission Statement

Reserve of Talamanca

Indigenous Adventures is a private initiative brought into life to further and facilitate socia and economical development in the Indigenous Reserve of Talamanca in the province of Limon, Costa Rica.

Through strategic alliances with local leaders, local initiatives as well as with individual members of the various clans present in the Reserve, we strive to develop new business models in order to provide additional structural (albeit seasonal) income with the long-term hope that these result in generational income as well.

Furthermore we strive to help preserve the Bribri and Cabekar cultural heritage as well as revive ancient customs which are in imminent danger of being lost.

Bribri and Cabekar

In order to ensure not only the sustainability of existing projects, but also to provide funding for new projects as well, it is necessary to generate income. As such we have chosen to (follow the example of Danilo Layan, founder of Ditsowo U to) use tourism as the main generator for creating revenue.

In order to do so it was deemed necessary to help create activities in order to be able to offer these in the form of tours.

As always, the search for external funding in the form of donations is an ongoing necessity.
